There's nothing quite like a royal wedding, and think we can all agree Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's was pretty epic. And by "we all" I mean everyone except Prince Philip. Apparently Prince Harry's late grandfather was not here for the pomp and circumstance of his very public wedding, and was overhead making a pretty rude comment about it once everything was over.

The comment in question was revealed by royal butler Grant Harrold, who just wrote a memoir full of tea.

"Once all the formalities were over, we watched as the happy couple, and then the other members of the Royal Family, filed out of the chapel," Grant said in an excerpt published by The Telegraph. "When Prince Philip came out, he turned to the Queen and said, 'Thank fuck that’s over.'"

Meanwhile, royal expert Ingrid Seward preciously told Us Weekly that Philip was "very welcoming to Meghan because, of course, she was a newcomer and a very different newcomer. At the time of Meghan and Harry’s romance, he wasn’t around nearly as much because he’d retired. He didn’t see very much of Meghan at all [and] he didn’t really have a chance to form a relationship with her.”

That said, Philip was "determined”"to attend the wedding despite a recent hip surgery, and "[it] is a really good example of him being absolutely determined that whatever happened, he was gonna walk down that aisle at the wedding and take his seat."
