Rumor has it that Kate Middleton and Prince William are giving up Adelaide Cottage for a casual castle called Fort Belvedere—which comes with multiple "extra" cottages. But before we get into that, please note that apparently nothing has been confirmed just yet and the couple's primary focus is making the best decision for their kids.
Royal expert Jennie Bond tells The Mirror that "The first thing that has to be said is that this is just a rumor. William and Catherine have been so set on giving their children a more 'normal' upbringing than royal youngsters before them that it’s hard to imagine them wanting to move to what is, in effect, a castle — albeit it a relatively small one. However, it may well be that they feel they are outgrowing Adelaide Cottage—four bedrooms for a family of five doesn’t leave much room for visiting relatives or friends, or for kids' sleepovers."
She adds, "Whatever they decide, William and Catherine will have their children’s happiness at heart. For them, preserving a relaxed, cosy family life - as close to some sort of normality as possible given their status—is a top priority."
Kay, cool, back to those extra cottages. Bond also notes that with its eight bedrooms, swimming pool, and tennis courts, the appeal of Fort Belvedere is "obvious," and that "there are also about three cottages in the grounds, which could be useful for staff or protection officers."
Prince William and Kate Middleton haven't confirmed or denied rumors about their move, but you can get details on Charles' less-than-enthusiastic reaction below.
