Prince Harry has denied reports that he punched his disgraced uncle, Prince Andrew, at a family gathering.
The inaccurate claims were made by Andrew Lownie in his new book The Rise and Fall of the House of York, excerpted in the Daily Mail, who says the alleged incident went down during a family gathering in 2013 where "punches were thrown over something Andrew said behind Harry’s back," which led to a "bloody nose." The book also alleged that Andrew made disparaging comments about Meghan Markle.
Prince Harry's rep released a statement strongly denying this to The Guardian, saying "I can confirm Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make the comments he is alleged to have made about the Duchess of Sussex to Prince Harry."
The Guardian also reports that the Sussexes have sent a legal letter to the Daily Mail over their publication of the "gross inaccuracies, damaging and defamatory remarks" in the excerpt. Meanwhile, the rest of the royals haven't commented on the book—which is pretty standard given that their unofficial family motto is "never complain, never explain."
FYI that this latest drama comes amid Prince Harry and King Charles potentially laying the groundwork for a reunion after years of tension. Not only were their reps were spotted meeting together in England, Harry has allegedly agreed to share his calendar with his father. More on all that below!
