A voice of a generation is officially back on TV. And as Lena Dunham prepares for the launch of her new Netflix show, Too Much, she’s looking back on the HBO hit that made her a household name to begin with. In a recent interview, Lena revealed where each of the women of Girls would be today and spilled on whether or not she’d ever return for a Girls revival.

Girls had its fair share of controversies over the six seasons it aired—from debates about nudity to diversity—but since it ended, it has proved to be just as relevant as ever. So much so that Lena said she’d be open to a Girls revival—someday.

“If we had something to say that was really specific and it was a moment in their lives where we felt like revisiting it,” she told Variety. “Like millennial women becoming mothers or stepping into menopause or going to live at old-age homes.” Marnie in an old-age home?? I would like to see it.

Asked where she thought Hannah Horvath, her character, and her Girls—Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke), and Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet)—would be today, Lena was quick to answer. “Shoshanna was married to, then divorced from, the mayor of New York City, and she runs an athleisure startup that’s zero-waste,” she said. “Marnie—it’s third marriage. She still sings, but I think Marnie really needs to take it to sex and love addicts anonymous. Jessa is unvaccinated and lives on a boat in Croatia.”

She’s got ideas on where the men of Girls would be today, too. “Adam is a cult theater actor, and he’s probably living in Berlin, and Ray is still on city council and running his coffee shop and doing better than anyone,” she mused. “Elijah is the fourth lead on a sitcom, making a good amount of money and still looking for love in all the wrong places.”

As for Hannah, the writer thinks that she’d be settled in her life as a mother and educator. “She teaches at Bard and loves raising her son,” she said, adding that Hannah would probably be more grounded than when Girls started. “She probably has a girlfriend who’s, like, a chef. And she’s less obsessed with being famous. That is where I feel that she would land,” she said.

Too Much premieres July 10 on Netflix.
