When it comes to celebrities who never miss the mark in the style stakes, Dakota Johnson tops the list. From red carpet awards shows to her off-duty wardrobe, the actress can be counted on to look chic AF. So, is it any wonder she's been selected to grace the cover of ELLE UK's June issue? We think not.
And unsurprisingly, the magazine's accompanying photoshoot delivers a whole host of new gorge looks from Dakota, perfectly illustrating everything we just said. Albeit with an on-trend, naked twist in the form of underwear only. From bikinis to bra tops, it's perhaps the image of Dakota standing halfway up a staircase that best illustrates this point.
In the shot, she can be seen wearing a 16Arlington brown suede jacket with the sleeves rolled up, paired with teeny tiny fluffy knit micro shorts cut so high up on the leg they're basically just panties. Ferragamo sculptural heels and Gucci jewelry complete the look.
Dakota, who is currently in a relationship with Chris Martin, continued to rep the no-pants trend—a sub-category of naked dressing—in a second image, posing in nothing but a red satin embossed Gucci pajama shirt while sitting on the floor.
The A-list approved trend has dominated celebrity style for the past few years and shows no signs of slowing down soon. Dakota herself has frequently sported risqué 'fits that tap into the style with plunging necklines and see-through dresses.
For this latest shoot, as well as ditching her trousers, she also flipped the look, pairing a red and white Gucci logo triangle bikini top with baggy jeans. Another outfit consisted of an intricate metal flower chainmail Simone Rocha top layered over a nude bra.
Fashion aside, Dakota sat down with Pedro Pascal to discuss their upcoming film Materialists, which premieres next month, their friendship, and her life in general.
“Given the jobs we have, we are both so used to being nomadic, and I find a lot of peace when we’re able to be nomadic together – it’s very joyful. We have clicked into place in the last few years and have been a safe and supportive place for each other,” she said.
The June issue of ELLE UK is on sale now.
