Our faves are back. And by our faves, I mean a sarcastic young writer with sky-high Hollywood dreams and her slightly problematic employer/iconic comedienne. We've been in a Hacks drought since season 3 wrapped up back in May of last year. The finale ended on a pretty tense note, with Ava (played by Hannah Einbinder) blackmailing Deborah (Jean Smart) into giving her the head writer position on her late-night talk show. The two have had quite a complicated relationship throughout the show, but season 4 finds them in a whole new chapter—working as (somewhat?) equals.
The first two episodes premiered on Max on Thursday, April 10, and season 4 is shaping up to provide a constant battle of egos and wits, not unlike its predecessors. The episodes are dropping weekly on Max at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, so be sure to mark your calendars if you don't want to miss a beat of this season's antics.
