Demi Moore may not have won the Oscar, but she definitely won the after-party. Despite being heavily favorited to win for her work in The Substance, Demi lost the Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role to Mikey Madison. And while I’m sure she was disappointed in the moment, the actor reacted to her Oscar loss in the best possible way: with family and fries. Lots and lots of fries.
Demi’s daughter Tallulah Willis shared a pic of her mom basking in her post-Oscars glory, proudly holding up a perfectly golden french fry in front of not one but two giant trays of fries. “MY winner,” Tallulah captioned the photo, adding a french fries emoji. I believe it was the ancient texts that say, “She who has the fries, has the win,” right?
In another win for the actor, she appeared to be out of her glam, having traded in her sparkly gowns for what looks like a very comfy white robe with her sweet pup Pilaf in her lap. She didn’t get the Oscar, but Pilaf is just as small and probably a way better cuddler.
Before the fries, Demi attended the Vanity Fair Oscars party with her three daughters, Tallulah, Rumer, and Scout. (Mikey also attended, Oscar in hand.) And she dazzled in a sparkling gold custom Gucci halter dress.
Oh, and if you’re wondering if she holds any resentment towards Mikey after the Anora actor’s surprise win, don’t! While some are reporting that Demi looked disappointed when her name wasn’t called (a totally NORMAL and UNDERSTANDABLE reaction, if you ask me), the actor was seen giving Mikey a standing ovation at the ceremony. And the two have clearly formed a friendship over the course of this awards season. Mikey has even earned a coveted spot on Pilaf’s Instagram.
In other words: Let the woman have her fries and celebrate the end of this tremendous awards season in peace. And let’s cast Demi in more things, Hollywood!
