After A$AP Rocky’s “stressful” high-profile trial at the top of this year, the rapper is reportedly planning to spend some downtime with Rihanna and their two children, RZA and Riot, to unwind.
“They have lived in this stressful bubble for the past month. It’s been all about the trial,” an insider told People on February 20. “They are planning a family trip with the kids to spend some quality family time and to get their minds in a better place.”
In April 2022, Rocky was accused of firing a handgun at his former collaborator A$AP Relli, who “sustained a minor injury” and sought medical treatment, per the LAPD. He stood trial in January 2025 after a judge ruled there was enough evidence in 2023, and The New York Times reported that the rapper turned down a plea deal in the process. On February 18, he was found not guilty of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm.
Once the verdict came in, he leapt into Rih’s arms and thanked reporters outside the courthouse, saying, “First of all, I got to thank god. We want to thank god first, you know what I’m saying? And I really want to thank the jury for making the right decision. I’m just so thankful. This is crazy right now. This whole experience has been crazy, for the past four years, but I’m thankful, nonetheless, I’m thankful. Blessed to be here right now, to be a free man talkin’ to y’all. Thank you. All praise to god.”
Rihanna also expressed her gratitude on her Instagram Stories that night, writing, “The glory belongs to god and god alone! Thankful, humbled by his mercy!”
Oh, and btw: Rocky was reportedly feeling so grateful for lawyer Joe Tacopina that he promised to name his third child after him.
As the attorney revealed to Extra in a video interview, “Rihanna and Rocky said to me in the courtroom yesterday, they grabbed me and they said, ‘Listen, our next baby is A$AP Joe.’” An honor, truly.
