Following weeks of speculation, LAROI took to his X account on July 25 to seemingly confirm the split. In response to a post claiming that his team was paying to have slanderous tweets about Tate posted across the platform, LAROI stated, “I have NOTHING to do with this and I DO NOT co sign this behavior whatsoever. working to get these removed.”
Along with the post, he shared a screenshot of a conversation with his team stating that he and Tate “are on good terms” and encouraging them to have the posts removed.
July 1, 2025
While on vacay in Saint-Tropez, Tate is photographed on a yacht with friends, where LAROI is nowhere in sight...but a mystery man (later ID’d as her bodyguard) looks veeeery cozy with her.
Not long after, a tipster for DeuxMoi claims to spot LAROI at L.A. hotspot Barr Seco holding hands with a new woman, who they describe as “short and blonde” with a “definitely more edgy vibe.” Iiiinteresting.

During an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, Tate opens up about what it was like to work with LAROI on her new album, So Close to What. She reveals that they’ve written two songs together and says, “It felt really fresh. We’ve never sang in front of each other until August. I pulled him out for one of my shows. And it was so funny, we’re sitting in soundcheck and neither of us wanted to start singing.”
She adds that she “wouldn’t look at him” while they sang together because she wasn’t used to their new dynamic as collaborators, explaining, “It’s like a mental thing where I just feel like he’s never heard me sing, and I like to pretend that he doesn’t know I’m a singer, but he does obviously know I’m a singer.”
Tate also dishes that they were both nervous as they cut tracks in the studio. “It was funny. It was wholesome. It was cute, but it was definitely nerve-wracking for both of us who are usually so in our element and so controlling in the rooms. We both were like, ‘Okay, who’s going to lead the room?’” she shares, adding that they “try to not talk about work as much as possible.”
Oh, and LAROI makes it v clear how proud he is of his GF with a sweet IG message, where he writes, “‘I KNOW LOVE’ out now with my bestest friend on her album SC2W!!!!! watched @tatemcrae give EVERYTHING to this album and you can really hear that. it’s incredible. to say I’m proud is an understatement.
