On Valentine’s Eve (yes, we’re making it a thing!), Cosmopolitan joined forces with Bumble to take over BOOM at the Standard, High Line hotel for a countdown to our favorite holiday and celebration of love in all forms, along with the release of our Love Issue.
The dress code was “sexy,” and guests did not disappoint. (We rounded up some of the must-see looks here.) With DJ sets from Las Flaquitas and Gus Dapperton and a live bar-top performance by rapper JT, the vibes were, dare we say, immaculate? Here’s your might-as-well-have-been-there recap of the star-studded night.
Upon entry, Bumble gifted single partygoers a yellow bracelet if they wanted to indicate they were looking for love. Other details throughout the party prompted moments of connection, from cheeky cocktail napkins to “truth or dare” prompts on the bathroom mirrors.
Guests included many familiar faces in the Club Cosmo family, from Love Issue contributors (like cover story writer Hunter Harris and dating columnist Ella Snyder) to featured talent including artists, comedians, creators, Bravolebrities, and more favorites worth fangirling over. Seriously, where else will you find Chase Sui Wonders, Tayshia Adams, Meredith and Seth Marks, Gabby Windey, Ivy Getty, Davis Burleson, Connor Wood, Tefi Pessoa, Sofia Franklyn, Harry Hill, Erin and Abe Lichy, Kitty Lever, Larry Owens, Larsen Thompson, Chloe Troast, and so many more under one roof?
Tucked away in an intimate corner was the “Dirty Poets Department,” where three poets sat at typewriters and used their psychic abilities to interpret guests’ deepest romantic dreams and desires and craft them into lines of poetry.
Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Willa Bennett introduced rapper JT to sing her hits “JT Coming” and “Okay” atop the iconic BOOM bar.
And of course, we couldn’t end the night without a lil sweet treat—literally, as in mini bags of candy from our collaboration with the precious New York City candy shop connoisseurs.
All in all, the Love Ball was nothing short of a perfect night. So...same time next year?
