Hi, hello, I don't know if you've heard, but the 2025 Oscar nominations have *finally* been announced, and Ariana Grande is officially an Academy Award nominee! The multi-hyphenate earned a Best Supporting Actress nom for her role as Glinda in Wicked, and you could say she's pretty emotional about it (no surprise). You know who else is excited about the nom? Her boyfriend and Wicked costar, Ethan Slater.

Not long after the nominations announcement, Ethan took to Instagram to share a rare pic of his GF, standing next to a balcony door and holding a bundle of pink balloons. He didn't add a caption—but tbh, he didn't really need to include one. The photo says it all.

Ari hasn't commented on the post, but she did give it a "like" and add it to her IG Story, so that's good enough for me.

Ofc, Ariana reacted to the big news on IG as well. She shared a childhood snapshot of herself dressed up like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz (cute!) as well as a lengthy caption, thanking the Academy for "this unfathomable recognition."

She added, "I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise. I’m humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny Ari, who sat and studied Judy Garland singing 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' just before the big, beautiful bubble entered."

During an interview with Variety (which occurred on the morning of the 2025 Oscar nods annoucement), Ariana shared that she's currently in London, which is where she received the news. "I just got off the phone with my mom and my best friends and Kristin Chenoweth," she revealed. "And I have been texting with Cynthia [Erivo] and Jon [M. Chu] all morning."

And though she didn't mention Ethan during the interview, it seems veeeery possible that his picture was taken from a London hotel room...where they are perhaps staying together. Just saying!
