Taylor Swift performed her final show of the Eras Tour last night, and the numbers have officially been crunched.
The verdict? The Eras Tour is the highest grossing tour of all-time and made $2,077,618,725 in ticket sales. That's correct, over two billion dollars—a figure that was confirmed to the New York Times by Taylor Swift's production company, Taylor Swift Touring.
Per the NYT, that's "double the gross ticket sales of any other concert tour in history." To put that into perspective, Coldplay had previously set an "industry record" with $1 billion in ticket sales during the Music of the Spheres World Tour, and Taylor brought in double that for the Eras Tour.
Apparently that aforementioned $2,077,618,725 doesn't even include what Taylor made from merch during the tour, and let's not forget Taylor's Eras Tour concert film, which made $261 million worldwide.
All that $$$ aside, Taylor made it clear last night that her personal highlight of the Eras Tour was the fan community. “Making friends and bringing joy to each other, that is I think the lasting legacy of this tour, is the fact that you have created such a space of joy and togetherness and love," she told the audience during her last show on December 8. "I couldn’t be more proud of you, honestly that is all you. That is what people think about when they think about this tour, is how they felt out in the crowd with you. I just want to say that, you’re why this is so special. And you supporting me for as long as you have is why I get to take these lovely walks down memory every single night because you cared about every era of my entire life that I've been making music, so thank you.”
