Good morning, fellow Addison Rae devotees and ā€œDiet Pepsiā€ enthusiasts. Some news: Addison just stepped out at the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards channeling her new song ā€œAquamarine,ā€ and the look was perfect, I fear!

The Thanksgiving star wore head-to-toe Thom Browne, featuring a gray corset and a shimmering mermaid skirt that I need. She paired the look with glam from Pat McGrath Labs featuring their new Luminous Legends: Mega Eyeshadow Palette. Her only accessory? A seashell (+ a strand of Mikimoto pearls), thanks for asking.

In case you haven’t already watched the video for ā€œAquamarine,ā€ please fix that:

Addison spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about the follow-up to her Grammy-Sure-to-Be-Winning-Like-It-Literally-Better song ā€œDiet Pepsi,ā€ saying, ā€œā€˜Diet Pepsi’ was always going to be the first thing I dropped. This one only felt right to follow up...I think it’s very different from ā€˜Diet Pepsi’ but also in the same universe. And I think that was really essential—that it felt very cohesive and it can exist in the same world. I think people expect a follow-up to something like ā€˜Diet Pepsi’ to be very similar to it...which is exactly why I couldn’t give [it to] them. You know what I mean?ā€

She also mentioned that ā€œAquamarineā€ is about ā€œtransforming and finding what message you want to tell and what story you want to tell through your lifeā€ and about ā€œrawness and acceptance.ā€

And yes, the title is a call back to the 2006 film Aquamarine, which Addison says she’s watched many times. ā€œThe title, I think it’s so glamorous and so beautiful,ā€ she explained. ā€œBut yeah, I like to draw inspiration from everywhere and I never shy away from feeling like there’s something to learn from a movie, for example.ā€
