I believe it was William Shakespeare who once said, "I think the apple's rotten right to the core / From all the things passed down / From all the apples coming before." Oh wait no, it was Charli XCX, casually singing the song of the second half of the summer.

At this point we can only assume Charli's made millions from streams of "Apple" alone thanks to everyone attempting to do (in my case poorly) the TikTok dance. Not to mention the power whatever this is from Cynthia Nixon holds:

Anyway, while we're all v. much enjoying the last weeks of our collective Brat summer, reminder that Charli XCX has been making hits for a minute. By which we mean ~17 years + six studio albums + six headlining tours. Check out a breakdown of her total net worth, and warning: it'll shock you like defibrillators.

Reminder That Charli Is Behind Some of the Biggest Songs...Ever

On top of writing her own music, Charli's written numerous hits for other people. Casual examples: "I Love It" by Icona Pop, "Fancy" by Iggy Azalea, "Same Old Love" by Selena Gomez, and "Señorita" by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.

Point is, Charli has a lot of credits on a lot of songs, but she actually told Billboard "I don’t really make much money from publishing."

The outlet went ahead and dug into this, and estimated that Charli brings in "between $500,000 and $900,000 in publishing royalties from her artist catalog annually," though the exact number depends on "the nature of her publishing deal." They also noted that their estimate includes both Charli's own catalog of music, as well as the songs she's written for other people. Obviously, $500,000-900,000 is a lot of money, but perhaps not quite as much as you'd expect from someone who's such a hitmaker.

Of course, that doesn't factor in the Brat of it all.

How Much Has Charli Made from Brat Summer, You Ask?

We're still in the thick of it, so TBD! But it doesn't seem like a stretch to say that the cultural phenomenon that is Brat will launch Charli's bank account into a whole new stratosphere. Can only imagine that the merch alone is bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars. Or at least $40, because I just bought this t-shirt:

FYI, She Wants to Move Onto Acting

And if Charli's successful in this pivot—which she will be, obviously—there could be a lot of money in it. As she put it to Billboard, "I saw this tweet the other day that was like, 'Does anyone think that this is Charli’s last album?'… Then I was like, 'Actually, that could be cool if I didn’t really make music anymore after this.' I’m definitely thinking about it because I really want to act. I don’t know. I’m just so deep in this, I can’t see outside of brat, but it’s funny. I kind of want to make a Lou Reed record, to be honest. That would definitely be a pretty big swing."

She Has Millions Tied Up in Real Estate

Back in 2015, Charli was doing so well that she bought a home in the Hollywood Hills for $2.8 million. She then sold it in 2021 for just over $3 million, making a small profit. But before that, Charli had forked over $5.1 for another Hollywood Hills home that previously belonged to Calvin Harris.

So, What's Charli's Total Net Worth?

Celebrity Net Worth reports that Charli has $10 million in the bank, but gonna go ahead and assume that figure is actually much higher thanks to Brat, so circle back in a couple months once those numbers have been crunched. 'Til then, excuse me while I go learn the "Apple" choreography and give everyone around me second-hand embarrassment.
