The Crown is over after six dramatic and extremely posh seasons, but Dominic West just kicked off some fresh royal drama. Turns out he and Prince Harry are no longer in touch—despite the fact that they did a charity event together in 2013 that involved them taking a trip to Antarctica.
So...what went wrong? Dominic explained why they lost touch during an interview with "Sunday Morning." Upon being asked if he spoke to Harry before taking on the role of Prince Charles, he said, "No, we sort of...no. I said too much in a press conference, and so we didn't speak after that."
Oh, and when asked for details, Dominic added “I think I was asked what we did. What we did to celebrate when we got there and probably said too much.”
Obviously, at this point you're wondering what Dominic could have possibly said during this press conference, and Us Weekly dusted off a quote that seems like it could (maybe?) be the comment in question. Ahem:
“[Harry] was very much part of the team. He seemed to specialize in building latrines. He built this incredible castellated structure with blocks to keep out the wind, and it even had a [toilet] roll holder.”
I mean, lol.
Anyway, for what it's worth, Harry has been known to watch The Crown. Back in 2021 he told James Corden that the show “gives you a rough idea about what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that." Harry also noted that he's "way more comfortable" with The Crown than he is with seeing "stories written about my family."
