Original story 9/18/23: The Chiefs played the Jags on Sunday (she said, with the unearned authority of someone who might know such things), meaning Travis Kelce was on the field amid rumors/reports that he's dating Taylor Swift. And, naturally, the game's announcer, Ian Eagle, simply couldn't help himself.
After Travis scored his first touchdown, Ian mused, "Kelce finds a blank space for the score!" According to TMZ he then, feeling bold, went ahead and made a "shake it off" joke for good measure.
As a reminder, a source recently told Entertainment Tonight that Travis and Taylor aren't officially dating. But! They also said that, "Travis has been into Taylor for a while and definitely has a crush on her. He is a simple guy that is very funny, charismatic, chill, and loves playing football." So...read into that how you will, I guess?
Meanwhile, Travis previously told his brother Jason Kelce that he'd tried to give Taylor his number at the Eras Tour (via friendship bracelet, ofc), saying, "I was disappointed that she doesn't talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings. So I was a little butthurt I didn't get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her."
He added, "If you're up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets. I received a bunch of them being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it. She doesn't meet anybody, or at least she didn't want to meet me, so I took it personal. But it was an unbelievable show."
