If you tuned into the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on Tuesday night hoping for glam rock, then you were met with an abundance of riches. Between The Warning, Fall Out Boy, and Demi Lovato's numbers, music's big night was a feast for the rocker-inclined. But it was Italian rock band Måneskin that brought the house down, premiering “Honey (Are U Coming?)” to a roaring Prudential Center crowd.

The band—which is comprised of vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio—took Cosmopolitan behind-the-scenes of the 2023 VMAs, chatting through the night while posing for black-and-white photos by Fabio Germinario.

“The VMAs are so iconic, of course. We grew up with this MTV dream in our head and to be here and finally be a part of it means the world to us as a band,” they said. “Performing at such a high professional show always gives us good vibes.”

The good vibes were present from start to finish. Måneskin spent the show especially excited to see Shakira and Doja Cat's performances, and they all wore exceptionally elevated platform shoes—“We’re extremely tall which feels unusual and delightful. The tallest people at the party!” they quipped—to complete their VMAs look.

When Chloe x Halle finally introduced the provocative band, the sisters aptly called them “the embodiment of global rock stars,” but even with that high praise, the band's focus was firmly on giving fans a good time.

“Our song talks about taking someone special to a happy place, so we hope to move everyone in the crowd with this good feeling,” Måneskin told Cosmo before performing. “Being there for the second year in a row means a lot to us.”

And they walked away with a successful performance under their belt and some hardware. Måneskin won a VMA for Best Rock for the 2022 single “The Loneliest,” taking home a Moonman Award for their work.

If one VMAs number just isn't enough Måneskin for you though, good news: The band is about to embark on a U.S. tour leg for Rush! beginning September 21.

“We started with two sold-out shows in Germany and France. It's going to be a long tour that will take us from North and South America to Australia. It's our first worldwide arena tour, and it will be our first time at MSG. We still can’t believe it!” they said. “We love to play live and will always want to give our audience a fun and good time to remember.”
