Anyone else constantly picking their jaw up off the floor during Vanderpump Rules? As a reminder, news of Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss’s cheating scandal broke midway through the airing of the season, leaving viewers curious about whether or not Bravo would re-edit the episodes with Scandoval in mind. And Lala Kent just revealed that yep, they sure did.
At least last week’s episode, where Lala asks Ariana Madix about Tom not leaving a Labor Day party amid her grandmother’s death.
“I told you guys that we did not have any editing placed in the episode until Scandoval happened. I did speak too soon,” she said on her Give Them Lala podcast, per Us Weekly. “Now remember, what I see beforehand is not always what makes it onto the television screen.”
She went on to explain, “What was added in after Scandoval is they had me narrate what happened. This Labor Day thing mattered enough for me to pull Ariana aside and have that conversation with her. But it wasn’t a mind-blowing [scene].”
“I watched them with no cameras and no Ariana around,” Lala continued, explaining that Bravo didn’t have footage of the Labor Day party so they got some from Scheana Shay’s vlog. “Now we are starting to have interviews after Scandoval happened and scenes that may not have made it. Some of these scenes may not have made it—they were absolutely filmed pre-Scandoval—that may have been insignificant at the time but became very significant.”
And speaking of scenes that happened off camera...Lala’s mom witnessed Tom lie to Ariana at the Labor Day party: “Ariana was screaming at him and he would hang up and say that he lost service. My mom was watching this and she didn’t tell me until I thought something was going on."
Truly gonna need to take 10 to process this all.
