As you continue putting together your list of must-read new books for 2021, consider some YA options. Though they come in every genre imaginable, they're usually the ones that go viral and spark a lot of conversation both online and in your IRL social spheres. There are so many exciting new titles getting released, it's hard to even scratch the surface. But this guide should get you started with some of the best and most anticipated books that have already hit the shelves in 2021, and some that are yet to come.

There's a reason young adult literature becomes so popular with readers of all ages. It's not that the genre is lighter and less stressful than any other kind of book. Books set in high school and beyond can be just as serious as any other kind of literature. Sometimes more so. Teen angst is no joke, you guys. Emotions are high in YA books, which makes them really easy to relate to and enjoy. Reading YA is also, for some dumb reason, the best way to stay on top of what new movies are coming out. Hollywood is obsessed with putting these books on the screen.

So! For all your dramatic romances, shocking thrillers, and heartwarming coming of age needs, these are the best new YA books you're going to want to pre-order for 2021 before all the cool kids are talking about them.
