Dua Lipa is back on the road, and this time, she’s got a few surprises up her haute couture sleeves. The pop powerhouse kicked off the Australia/New Zealand leg of her Radical Optimism Tour, which introduced upgraded stage production, vibrant visuals, and an expanded setlist, at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on March 17.

The performance marked the first of her five-night run in the city before taking the stage for multiple nights in Sydney and Auckland, and let’s just say this diva didn’t disappoint. The Grammy winner opened her show with “Training Season” and “End Of An Era” before locking into hits from her previous eras.

She then introduced a surprise cover (!!!) of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell,” as an homage to the band who hails from down under. The “Houdini” hitmaker looked like a bonafide rockstar in a shimmering sheer black lace catsuit, red hot shorts, and white faux fur draped across her shoulder.

Her sultry vocals sounded like they were made for the song. In fact, we’d love to see Miss Dua’s take on more rock-inspired songs, as do her adoring fans, who uplifted the singer on social media.

“She should make a rock album her voice sounds SO GOOD with this genre,” one TikTok comment read while another person wrote, “YESSSS!! Is this permanently on the set??? Cuz I neeeeeddd to see this live.”

As Dua returned to the arena for another show on March 19, she showed off her range and swapped AC/DC’s 1979 classic for another early aughts track: Natalie Imbruglia’s “Torn.”

The rest of her Radical Optimism Tour continues throughout Australia and New Zealand until she makes her way to Spain in May. And, as long as she keeps these stunning covers coming, we fear I may have to secure some tickets to her upcoming U.S. leg.
