So, if you’re familiar with Doja Cat, then you know that the rapper isn’t exactly shy. (I mean, have you seen her TikToks? And remember that moment at the 2022 Grammys when she announced to everyone that she’d been to the bathroom when her big win was announced? Truly an icon.) But fans need to know: What’s the deal with Doja Cat’s dating history? Does Doja have a boyfriend? How about famous exes? And what’s going on with her and Joseph Quinn? Seems like it’s time for a deep dive, friends.

Although the rapper has been romantically linked to a handful of people over the years, she’s never actually confirmed her relationship status, mostly because she wants to keep her love life out of the spotlight. (As she told Ebro Darden during an interview, she doesn’t intend to share who she’s dating until “it becomes real” with someone.) However! She *just* opened up about her rumored relationship with Joseph, which is kinda major!

But before we get into that, here are all the famous folks Doja has *maybe* dated, including Joji, Jawny, and—of course—Joseph.

Jawny: 2019 to 2020

Since her rise to fame, Doja has had only one public relationship, and that was with singer Jawny (formerly Johnny Utah). He caught Doja’s eye not long after he released his breakout single, “Honeypie,” in April 2019, and although Doja didn’t particularly like the song, she did like the look of him.

As she recounted during a September 2019 IG Live with Jawny, “I found his music video for ‘Honeypie,’ and I didn’t like the song. But I liked the way you moved. I don’t know. It was your pants. I was like, ‘Oh, I like your pants.’” She reached out to him on IG, and eventually, they began an IRL romance, even collaborating on Jawny’s track “Anything You Want” together.

By February 2020, Doja and Jawny decided to call it quits, and she opened up to fans about the split during an IG Live. “Everything is okay,” she said. “I unfollowed my ex-boyfriend and everything is okay. We have been cool…no drama or weird sh*t going on. Sh*t just didn’t work out.”

Fortunately, it seems like the two are on good terms. As Jawny told Elite Daily, their track “Anything You Want” was ultimately cut from his 2020 album, For Abby, but the decision had nothing to do with bitterness. “I have massive respect for her, and I believe she does for me,” he said of Doja, adding, “When we split, we were like, ‘I don’t think this feature makes sense…because we’re not dating anymore.’”

French Montana: 2020 and 2022

In September 2020, Doja and fellow rapper French Montana (who collaborated together on his track “Handstand”) sparked romance rumors when they were spotted hanging out on a yacht. It took only a day for Doja to shut down the rumors, tweeting, “Me and French got a song coming out. Fuckin relax.” Case closed!

Rumors ramped up again in January 2022 after the two went to the Bahamas to celebrate their mutual friend Adam Zia’s birthday, per Page Six. But then, after French posted a pic of the two of them at dinner from the vacay, Doja slid into the comments section to write, “Love you brother.”

In conclusion: Things between these two def were platonic and nothing more.

Bree Runway: 2021

Although it’s still unclear whether she actually dated Doja, British rapper Bree Runway def got fans’ attention in July 2021 when she posted a series of v cozy pics and videos with Doja on IG (which have since been deleted) along with the caption, “You know I’m crazy about my WOMANNNN! Love youuuuu @dojacat best night everrrr. 💍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”

Just a few days later, Bree tweeted pics of Doja at dinner and wrote, “My hot date @DojaCat,” with a ring emoji (and posted even more pics on IG).

And that same night, Doja tweeted pics of Bree (which have since been deleted) along with the announcement, “I have a girlfriend and I’m going public @breerunway.” Um??

But the two never actually addressed dating speculation, so it seems like the posts were all just for fun.

Joji: 2022

Doja has been a fan of Japanese singer and YouTuber Joji for a while now (remember when she sent him that thirsty tweet back in 2015??), but it wasn’t until early 2022 that fans suspected something was *actually* going on between the two. It all started when Doja tweeted about Joji in January, writing, “Joji wyd u doing” (???). The following month, Doja apparently mentioned liking Joji during an IG Live.

But in typical Doja fashion, she was quick to shut down rumors in an IG Live. “No, I’m not dating Joji,” she said, later adding, “Not that he’s not cute.”

Jeffrey “J” Cyrus: 2022 to 2023

After Joji, Doja sparked dating rumors with comedian J. Cyrus after being snapped on vacation with him in Cabo. Ahem, witness:

However, this was far from the first time the duo was spotted together. Back in November 2022, they were seen in New York. And just a few months later, in May 2023, they returned to the city yet again and were seen enjoying a bite to eat at Carbone.

And dating rumors really ramped up after Doja went on Instagram Live and fans heard what sounded like a guy in the background calling Doja “babe.”

But, like most Doja relationships, it’s unclear when things ended between these two (or if they were ever even a thing!!).

Joseph Quinn: 2024 to...now??

It all started in 2022 with Doja inquiring about Joseph’s relationship status with his Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp. ICYMI, Doja asked Noah via Instagram DM if Joseph was single, Noah said no and then quite literally told her to “slide into his DMs.”

Two full years later in August 2024, DeuxMoi dropped a video of Doja and Joseph having a casual PDA moment in London:

And then shared a picture of them cuddling at a concert:

DeuxMoi reported another sighting of the two in December 2024, and a few months after that, the pair was spotted together at an airport in Mexico...but since then, it’s been crickets.

Until! In an interview with The New York Times (which was published September 2025), Doja finally gave the scoop on where she and Joseph stand. Per the mag:

“Having most recently been linked to the actor Joseph Quinn, Doja Cat said she is ‘just having fun’ and ‘allowing things to happen,’ while noting that she both loves men and loves ‘bullying men.’”

So...does that mean she and Joseph are still an item? Your guess is as good as mine!
