Taylor Frankie Paul is trading Utah for Los Angeles to serve as the newest Bachelorette—and no, you’re not hallucinating. The queen of #MomTok and star of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives will be looking for love on The Bachelorette come 2026. Interestingly enough, her ex Dakota Mortensen wasn’t told about Taylor’s Bachelorette gig ahead of time.

“I have not confirmed it with him,” Taylor admitted during an appearance on Call Her Daddy when asked if she had told Dakota the news. “So I don’t know if he knows or if he knew I had the opportunity. So, he’ll know Wednesday.” In other words: Dakota found out this morning, just like the rest of us!

Asked how she thought he would react to the news, Taylor admitted that he’d probably be “sad.”

Taylor is a unique Bachelorette lead. Not only is she already a reality star—she’s also a single mom of three. And while single parents have been leads and contestants on the show, there has never been a single parent lead who also happened to go through a very dramatic and drawn out breakup on another reality television show.

On season 2 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which aired earlier this year, fans watched Taylor and her ex, Dakota, navigate becoming co-parents to their one-year-old son, Ever, despite Dakota wanting to get back together. At the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 2 reunion, Dakota even tearfully expressed his continued desire for reconciliation.

Speaking to Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper, Taylor confirmed that she and Dakota were done for good. “It’s over. And we'll see that play out,” she said, implying that fans would get all the details when TSLOMW returns for season 3 in November.

And for the record: Dakota has yet to react publicly to Taylor’s Bachelorette casting.
