- BTS shared a picture of all seven of them reunited following the completion of their military service.
- The group took a picture from the inside of a practice room, meaning something incredible is on the way, obvi.
- The members of BTS started heading out to their military service in October of 2022, with Jin being the first member to enlist.
ARMY, the time has finally come: All seven members of BTS have completed their military service and are officially back together as a group, just in time for Christmas.
The K-pop stars shared easily the most exciting update of the entire work day (work week? YEAR???), posting a photo to social media of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook all dressed down in t-shirts, sweatpants, and sneakers from the inside of a room with paneled walls and hardwood floors....meaning, yes, the boys are back in the studio.
Naturally, fans online couldn't contain their excitement at the boys all being back together and working on either new music, new choreography, or both. “My goats are coming back, one fan tweeted. "Oh I'm gonna be so insufferable.” Another user added, “the practice room photos always mean something epic is coming!” Honestly? No lies told!
The K-pop group's label, Big Hit Entertainment, first revealed their plans to step away from the music industry to complete their military service in October of 2022. Jin was the first of the members to enlist in the military, and per South Korean law, men in the country typically begin a 21-month term by their 28th birthday (though the boys were able to avoid going right away due to their musical obligations).
“Since the creation of BTS over ten years ago, the band has risen to international success, broken records, and catapulted K-Pop into the global stratosphere,” the company shared in a statement. “BIGHIT MUSIC has focused to the milestone moment when it would be possible to respect the needs of the country and for these healthy young men to serve with their countrymen, and that’s now.”
If BTS' reunion isn't enough to kick you right in the feels, allow me to pull up the most heartfelt ever quote from RM to let you know just how big a deal all of this is.
During the October 2022 Yet to Come Busan concert (AKA BTS' final performance together as a full group), RM reportedly told the audience: “If the seven BTS members feel the same way and if you guys have faith in us, we will overcome whatever happens to us in the future, and we will perform with you guys and make music. Please have faith in us.”
Not to be corny, but the best truly is yet to come—the boys are already hard at work at their next project, which is slated to be released sometime in spring 2026. My credit cards are ready!
