Beyoncé is hitting the road again. This time, it’s in support of her, ahem, Grammy Award-winning ALBUM OF THE YEAR Cowboy Carter. With the album ushering in a culture-defining Western Renaissance (heh), I already know the concert outfits are going to be fiiiiire.
Beyoncé's Christmas Day NFL halftime show performance—which you can watch and rewatch on Netflix, you're welcome—felt like a preview of the Cowboy Carter Tour: a stadium-wide line dance with 80,000 strangers, marching bands, surprise guests (fingers crossed!), and symbolic visuals that reclaim red, white, and blue patriotism. Now that the tour is upon us, it's high time to plan your outfit.
The BeyHive is going to show out for this tour. I mean, you simply must dress the part for Beyoncé. Lean into themes of gold, denim, Americana, cowboy boots and hats, and all things Western. Thanks to Cowboy Carter's major influence on fashion already, we're willing to bet you already have a few items in your closet to get started. Set it all off with a crafty DIY that'll be "unique!" from the crowd (ideas below, obviously), and you're ready for the concert of your year life.
Psst: If you don't have tickets yet, there are some reasonably-priced resale options available on StubHub and Ticketmaster right now. (Generally, I'm seeing better prices on StubHub.)
Gold is to Cowboy Carter as silver is to Renaissance. Just before the tour announcement, Beyoncé wore a gold paisley dress for her historic Grammys win, and shortly after, statuesque gold images of her dropped in support of her new perfume, Cé Lumière. Since it's not everyday that we get visuals from Beyoncé (still impatiently waiting for the Renaissance movie release... actively giving up on additional Cowboy Carter music videos...), fans latched on to the gilded aesthetic.
If you're going for gold, this Abercrombie sequin dress is reminiscent of the perfume campaign and on sale and available in most sizes RN. We're also obsessed with this tie-front gold top that you could re-style for nights out after your tour date has come and gone. Or, infuse a twinkle of gold into your look with a mesh top, tights, or jewelry.
It’s a bit on the nose, but too good to pass up: You can't go wrong with a pair of the "Levii’s Jeans" that Beyoncé crooned about with Post Malone. The brand is known for its classic 501 styles, especially the editor-backed shorts, but there are plenty of other trendy options to choose from.
Lean into Western codes with the exact vest or shorts that Beyoncé wore in her Levi's campaign. For a Cowboy Carter x "Alien Superstar" moment, we love the metallic silver-washed matching denim skirt set. You can also keep it subtle yet eye-catching with a men's graphic tee and flared jean, a la Kendrick Lamar's 2025 Superbowl Performance.
Renaissance-era disco ball cowboy hats will be back. I just know it. And among them will be a literal sea of cowboy hats with more authentic Western accoutrements. This white-and-silver star hat feels like a nod to Bey's Christmas Day halftime show (more on that later). Opt for a denim hat to complete your denim-on-denim ensemble, or a black-and-gold hat to channel Bey's leather Versace cowboy look from the 2024 iHeart Radio Music Awards.
For my own Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour look, I’ve been inspired by the Cowboy Carter sash. While the officially-licensed sash is sold out on Beyoncé's site, decor brand Ninalem’s Party went viral on Instagram when she posted that she's selling custom sashes for $40. There's only a 1-2 week lead time for custom orders (not bad!), but the brand recently announced that they have a ton of extra sashes with common names like "Smith" that are ready to ship if your concert date is fast approaching.
Beyoncé honed this theme in her Beyoncé Bowl Christmas Day halftime performance, complete with an all-white sash, feather coat, cowboy hat, sparkly top and matching chaps, and an ensemble of back-up dancers also wearing white. The performance was chocked full of historical references to Black cowboys, Texas marching bands, and Juneteenth parades, furthering Cowboy Carter’s reclamation of country music and American patriotism.
Fringe, bolo ties, belt buckles galore—Western accessories and accouterments are an easy way to put a Southern flair on an outfit you already have, especially if you're a last-minute concert outfit planner (no shame!). Instantly turn a classic jeans-and-a-tee into a hoedown-ready outfit with a vintage-inspired belt or bolo tie. Fringe is a must for those who love to dance. Or, take notes from Beyoncé's own closet with a bandana-print top.
Perhaps one of the easiest ways to embody the Cowboy Carter era is a fresh pair of cowboy boots. We found several options to choose from, whether you want something versatile like an embroidered tan or black boot, or a blinged-out option perfect for concerts and festivals. Channel the gold theme with metallic knee-high boots that pair well with Levi’s 501 shorts or a gold mini dress. If you’re committing to the all-white look, this pair will take your outfit to the next level. No matter which you choose, you'll have a new pair of cowboy boots to wear again and again (and mems of dancing with Beyoncé in them!!).
Concerts are the chance to let your creative side run wild. DIY your own cowboy hat to stand out from the crowd and/or to accentuate a Western outfit you're pulling from your closet. Throw on appliqués or a belt buckle, or accentuate the brim with dripping metallic fringe.
I’m planning to interpret the sash by covering a denim jacket in a bunch of county fair-style red, white, and blue rosette ribbons. Custom outfits, or coordinated accessories like bandanas, would make for an enviable group photo op and a fun night in with your crew to mentally prepare for the concert.
No concert look is complete without hair and makeup, and we found several beauty picks inspired by Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter styles, so far. Her nude lip from the 2024 iHeart Music Awards went viral, and thanks to her makeup artist Rokael Lizam’s Instagram post, we have confirmation on the exact shades used on her. But, the products for the rest of her looks are pretty under wraps (except her hair care line, Cécred).
If you want to sport a bold red lip a la her Cowboy Carter tour poster featuring her bleached brows, we found Merit’s matte lipstick in Vermilion to be a close match. She’s also sporting a glittery, wet-look eye, which you can achieve with Urban Decay’s Moondust eyeshadow topper in Cosmic. For those faux freckles, use Fazit’s viral makeup patches (that are Taylor Swift-approved), or use a faux freckle pen for a more subtle look. You can also add a set of metallic gold press-on nails for more Cé Lumière gold opulence.
