I’m a Shopping Editor and I Only Recommend These Travel Backpacks

One of my favorite features? A structured pocket specifically designed for your sunglasses, so you don’t have to carry a bulky case around. The main compartment works like your standard day-to-day backpack and can easily hold an outfit or two. It also includes a separate, padded laptop pocket and a water bottle holder, which are features that are always a win in my book.

That said, I tend to treat my backpack as a second piece of luggage when traveling abroad for more than a weekend, and this one doesn't offer quite enough space for that. Still, it’s an excellent choice for work, commuting, or an overnight trip. And here’s the kicker: it’s made with water-repellent material, which gives this one major points!

The Venture Pack and Daypack duo offer a smart, space-efficient setup for travel. The main bag opens clamshell-style, making it easy to pack like a suitcase. I managed to fit about a week's worth of clothes, a pair or two of shoes, and a couple of hair tools. The smaller Daypack is great for items you’ll need on hand—think wallet, passport, laptop/tablet, and a pouch of makeup and skincare products. You can wear it in front and go full turtle mode for added security, or attach it to the top of the larger pack for convenience.

FYI, I am 4'11, and I found the torso strap didn’t sit perfectly even after adjusting, but it was still comfortable enough to wear throughout the day. Stylish and compact enough for work, school, or travel, this perfectly puffy pick features multiple interior and exterior pockets, including dedicated compartments for your shoes and laptop, so everything has its place. Plus, it’s made from scratch-resistant material, which helps keep it looking newer for longer (a win if you just fling your bags around everywhere like I do).

Personally, I was shocked by how lightweight it felt, even when packed to the brim. And even though its official capacity is 22L, it honestly feels like it can hold a lot with its extra interior pockets and its separate laptop compartment that adds more storage space and organization. Best of all, it doesn’t look bulky or overwhelming on your back. Pair it with the Luka Duffel (which I’ve been obsessed with for years) for a functional and seriously cute travel set.
