As a girl who spends many of the 24 hours we are graced with every day scoping the best new perfume launches and determining what's trending in scent and what's going to be peaking in popularity next season, I feel fully qualified to say that floral is the scent family that is the most timeless. A good floral perfume is unlikely to 'trend' because the absolute classics of the fragrance world live in this category.

One of the most loved floral notes is jasmine. And the more you look, the more you realize that it's almost always nestled into some of the most popular scents out there, even scents that you wouldn't automatically classify as jasmine-y or floral, like Miss Dior and Coco Mademoiselle. So, whether you are on the hunt for an immediately punchy jasmine scent or prefer the note mixed with a bouquet of other beautiful notes, here are the best jasmine perfumes for every scent preference, from luxe to purse-friendly buys, tested and reviewed.

I love how exotic this scent is—it's the rainforest come alive with swelling greenery and vibrant blooms and, of course, sprays of bright white jasmine everywhere. It's not heady but it's punchy and passionate. A date night jasmine scent, if I ever smelled one.

Key notes: Passion flower, bergamot, jazmín yucateco, cloves, and vetiver

One shopper says: "The smell reminds me of old home jasmine green tea smell, it really makes me feel like a cup of tea, and the smell is about 90 percent similar, I would say. and also it is very long-lasting and fresh, good for spring and summer if you want a light and green-related kind of smell."

The vibe: Clean girl perfume, jasmine edition. This scent is like a secret doorway that keeps unlocking throughout the day. At first, it reads crisp and clean before softening to a powdery, floral warmth with jasmine really singing, but the dry down is warmer still with musk and vanilla pouring through.

The notes: Top - Bergamot, Pear, Ambrette, Aldehydes. Heart - Jasmine, Rose, Rosemary, Violet, Orris. Bottom - Vanilla, Musk, Moss

The reviews say: "Merit's Retrospect perfume is a game-changer! This sophisticated, powdery scent seamlessly transitions into a sensual, musky aroma that exudes confidence. Perfect for everyday wear, Retrospect makes a statement without being overpowering. A must-have for anyone seeking a refined, alluring fragrance!"

The vibe: This green floral scent is as delicate as a jasmine petal and is begging to be layered with some deeper notes, like sandalwood or vetiver, for a unique, rich signature scent. If you like a light, soft scent, then this is one to spritz for the end of summer.

The notes: Dew, Jasmine Petals, Sunny Notes

The reviews say: "I really love this perfume and it’s a perfect summer scent. I absolutely love the smell of jasmine, but have struggled to find a perfume that comes close to smelling as nice as the flower itself. It’s beautiful and light but complex and hot to heavy or overpowering. It’s gorgeous. And the bottle is elegant and looks very luxe in my bathroom cabinet."

The vibe: This is a really punchy floral bouquet that's as fresh on first spritz as it is warming on dry down. Floral fans will love how springy it feels - it's giving, walking through a garden in a chic, floaty summer dress, picking the flowers for your dinner tablescape.

The notes: Top - Mandarin Essence, Heart - Grandiflorum Jasmine, Magnolia Accord, Base - Sandalwood

The reviews say: "The packaging is very pretty. It is extremely white floral heavy, and if you apply too much, it is a very intense scent. Overall, it is a good spring fragrance for someone looking for a sweet floral."

The vibe: Phlur's Missing Person is one of the few scents that I have gone through multiple bottles of. It's not heavy on the jasmine; the note is enmeshed with the other green and floral notes of cyclamen, neroli, and orange flower. These floral notes lift off pretty quickly, however, leaving a soft skin scent in their wake. If you like subtle, familiar scents, it's for you.

The notes: Top notes of musk, bergamot nectar and jasmine, Heart notes of cyclamen, neroli blossom and orange flower, Base notes of sandalwood, blonde wood and white musk.

The reviews say: "This is a lovely fragrance from Phlur. It is soft and not too overpowering, but still lasts well on the skin. It can be layered with any of the body products to slightly intensify the fragrance. I wish they would create this fragrance in a body mist to add to the layers and to top up the fragrance."

The vibe: Floral fans, look no further, we have the perfect EDP for you! Inflorescence is the scent equivalent of crushing a hundred petals from jasmine (obvs) to freesia and rose, and taking a big ol' sniff. It's spring bloom, bottled but fragrance has no rules, you can wear this whatever season you fancy. The fresh jasmine is at the base of this scent, which differs from most of the others on this list. It makes it shine more, but it's still a light, delicate take on the note.

The notes: Top: Pink Freesia, Rose Petals, Heart: Lily of the Valley, Magnolia, Base: Fresh Jasmine

The reviews say: "This is the lightest of florals- it’s uplifting and pretty, smelling of little white flowers on a spring day. Refreshing and simple can be layered with other scents without competing too hard. Ideal for daytime use when you want to feel and look joyful and feminine."

The vibe: The warmth in this scent gives a summer sunset feeling – almost like a floral market at night. The resin at the base (smells a bit vanilla-esque), combined with the jasmine, is a combination that creates a slightly sweet, rich scent with a floral sophistication.

The notes: Marigold, jasmine sambac, benzoin resin

The reviews say: "I've always been very picky about perfumes, for years I didn't even wear one until I found this one. It feels like summer all year long. Perfect combination of sweet, fresh, elegant."

The vibe: The scent house describes this as a 'romantic evening in Venice' and I couldn't agree more. The jasmine in this really sings on first spritz, but really the scent envelops the jasmine in wisteria and narissus and subtle honeysuckle.

The notes: Wisteria, narcissus, jasmine, and honeysuckle

The reviews say: "Bought this in summer and it quickly became a favourite scent of mine, I have stopped myself from reaching for it so it does not finish. It was what I was looking for when I think of a “jasmine perfume'. Quite long-lasting but not the best longevity profile. Perhaps around 4-6 hours. It is not too sweet but is a very realistic jasmine and not too heavy a perfume. "
