Apple Presidents' Day Sales: What to Buy and What to Skip

The second long weekend of the year is here, and I couldn't be more grateful. After a years-long January and a snowy February with trusty Punxsutawney Phil predicting six more weeks of winter, we all deserve a Monday of bed rotting—and retail therapy.

Apple deals are one of the Presidents' Day sales our shopping team keeps an eye out for every year. You'll want to take full advantage if you're due for an upgrade, as the next big round of Apple sales likely won't be until Amazon's Spring Sale (if that's a thing again this year) or Memorial Day.

Apple doesn't host its own sales on shopping holidays like Presidents' Day (which falls on Monday, February 17), but big box retailers like Amazon and Walmart certainly do. So, to help you locate the best savings, we've broken things down below, product by product.

Here's what's worth buying right now: AirPods 4 (first time they're on major sale since release in September 2024), MacBook Airs (this price recently sold out but is back in stock), and AirTags (lowest price ever, matching Black Friday). While there are modest discounts on pretty much everything else, as long as you aren't desperate, you might find a better deal in a couple months' time. YWIA!

This is your first chance to get Apple AirPods 4 for $100. They were announced at Apple's most recent ~Event~ in September 2024, so they didn't go on sale around Black Friday. AirPods 4 claim to be "better fitting" to correct the common issue of AirPods falling out, and they also have optional active noise cancellation. If your classic AirPods are worse for wear, it's a good chance to update.

If you've been coveting AirPods Max, the gorgeous green colorway is the best price right now—they're $80 off. And though technically not AirPods, the wired headphone committee can stock up on EarPods for just $16.

Apple Watch deals are less enticing rn. This 2nd Generation SE is down to $169, which is a good price but not the best we've ever seen. The Series 10 is a modest sub-20% off in both WiFi and Cellular models. The Ultra is barely on sale. We were hoping for better deals in time for the holiday weekend, but it seems this is as good as it's going to get for Apple Watches this time around.
