It’s tradition for our favorite A-listers to flock to South Florida in early December, don their art-lover hats, and make their way through Art Basel Miami's legendary party circuit. During this year's events, artist Alex Prager's Mirage Factory was one of the most frequented celeb stops. Prager, a revered artist/filmmaker, created this multi-room installation in partnership with Capital One and the Cultivist. The immersive project allowed visitors to step into a nostalgic re-creation of Los Angeles during Hollywood’s Golden Age, complete with an artificial orange grove and miniature depictions of landmarks like Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Hotel, and Hollywood Boulevard.
The Mirage Factory vision was rooted in Hollywood's mysticism and the illusory nature of the city's artifice. In keeping with its focus on Hollywood’s Golden Age, the installation was housed inside an old Miami cinema. Almost as fitting (considering the project’s ode to Hollywood glamour) were all the high-profile names who stepped into the installation’s dreamscape throughout the course of Art Week 2025.
A number of star-studded events took place to celebrate the project in all its glamorous Golden Age splendor. (What’s an Old Hollywood tribute without a glitzy soirée or two?) One of the most notable was an opening night dinner hosted by Capital One and The Cultivist, which featured a performance by the legendary Diana Ross in between the first and second courses. (Who managed to turn everyone present, from the art-world luminaries to the bar staff, into giddy fangirls.)
The very next evening, you could spot stars like Damson Idris, Chance the Rapper, and Alana Haim floating around the Mirage Factory during the Capitol One x W Magazine party. Ahead, check out all the names who made an appearance in Alex Prager’s mini-Hollywood.
