- The White Lotus season 4 has unveiled two new cast members that will be joining the series for the first time.
- AJ Michalka of Aly & AJ will be one of the two new cast members.
- The next season of the HBO show, as a refresher, will be taking place in Paris and the French Riviera.
The White Lotus is unfortunately nowhere near making its return for season 4 yet (more on that later), but! The earliest details of who will be starring in its cast are finally making the rounds—and one of your fav former Disney stars just got their name added to the bill.
In a fun bit of end of year news, Variety reported on December 19 that AJ Michalka of THEEE Aly & AJ will have a role in the next season of The White Lotus. Details are yet to be determined about what her character will be, but having the icon who gave us Cow Belles, Super Sweet 16: The Movie and “Potential Breakup Song” pretty much guarantees that The White Lotus season 4 will be a hit (especially in my household). Consider me SAT!
Following the reveal of the big news, AJ shared the casting announcement to her Instagram with the most fitting caption: “Checking in! 🛎️ Let’s party Mike,” she captioned the post. And naturally, her big sis Aly had nothing but sweet things to say in the comments section: “So major!!!!!!! Marfa was good luck 😍 proud of you little.” Yep, I am sobbing.
Make no mistake, AJ has been booked and busy since her time on Disney—she's had roles in Super 8, Support the Girls, The Goldbergs, Schooled and She-Ra and the Princesses of Power just to name a few. And yes, she still makes music alongside her big sister, with the duo planning to hit the road in 2026 for their Places To Run Tour. So yeah, AJ is in demand.
Variety's announcement also revealed that Alexander Ludwig will be joining the cast too. Doesn't ring a bell? Alexander starred as Cato, district 2 male tribute and leader of the career pack in the first Hunger Games movie. Considering that people literally always die by the end of The White Lotus, let’s see how those skills come into play.
The White Lotus has yet to announce exactly when it will return, but sources expect the show to come back in late 2026 or early 2027. And expect a departure from its usual paradisiac scenery—the show will likely take place between Paris and the French Riviera, after series creator Mike White said he wanted to “get a little bit out of the ‘crashing waves against rocks’ vernacular.”
