‘Adolescence’ Cast: Where You’ve Seen the Actors Before
Stephen Graham co-created and stars in the four-part Netflix drama.
Netflix's Adolescence has now landed on the streaming site, and it's already got viewers hooked. After watching the first episode, one wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): "The opening scenes of Adolescence on Netflix have genuinely disturbed me." Another said: "Great first episode of Adolescence on @Netflix - love that I’ve seen minimal cutaways which I always love to see in films/TV shows. Powerful stuff, especially as a mum."
Speaking about the plot, which sees a 13-year-old boy named Jamie Miller (Owen Cooper) accused of murdering his classmate, a third said: "Currently watching Adolescence on @netflix When I say parenting is madness this is exactly it. What would you do if you were shown a video of your child murdering another child?"
Co-created and written by Stephen Graham and Jack Thorne, the four-part Netflix series, which was uniquely filmed in one continuous take, stars Graham as Jamie's father Eddie Miller, as well as Top Boy's Ashley Walters.

Owen Cooper as Jamie Miller
Who is Jamie Miller? Jamie Miller is a 13-year-old boy who is accused of murdering his classmate. He is played by up-and-coming actor Owen Cooper.
What else has Owen Cooper been in? This is Cooper's first acting role, but he's already booked for his next gig. Cooper is set to play young Heathcliff in Emerald Fennell's Wuthering Heights alongside Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, as per Variety.
Stephen Graham as Eddie Miller
Who is Eddie Miller? Eddie Miller is the father of Jamie Miller, and played by actor Stephen Graham.
What else has Stephen Graham been in?
Graham began his acting career in the '90s, with notable roles in Snatch and Gangs of New York. His breakthrough role was in the 2006 film This Is England. More recent TV appearances include the BBC's Line of Duty and Boiling Point, which he worked on with Philip Barantini, who directed Adolescence.
Speaking to Netflix about the new show, Stephen Graham said: "One of our aims was to ask, 'What is happening to our young men these days, and what are the pressures they face from their peers, from the internet, and from social media? And the pressures that come from all of those things are as difficult for kids here as they are the world over.'"
Ashley Walters as Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe
Who is Luke Bascombe? Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe has been assigned to Jamie's case. He is played by Ashley Walters.

Top Boy fans will recognize Walters from the crime series, in which he stars as top drug dealer Dushane Hill. For US people who don't watch, that's kind of like the UK's version of The Wire.
The rapper/actor, 42, rose to fame as member of UK garage group So Solid Crew and has appeared in multiple TV shows and films, including Bullet Proof, Get Rich or Die Tryin', and most recently Harlan Coben's Missing You.
Erin Doherty as Briony Ariston
Who is Briony Ariston? Erin Doherty stars as Briony Ariston, the clinical psychologist assigned to Jamie’s case.
What else as Erin Doherty been in? Doherty is known for playing the young Princess Anne in the third and fourth seasons of the The Crown.
She has also appeared in the BBC/Amazon Prime drama Chloe, and Reawakening.
Faye Marsay as Detective Sargeant Frank
