- KATSEYE made their debut at Coachella on April 10.
- Hours before the girl group was scheduled to hit the stage at the Sahara tent, a message played beforehand that teased a brand new project from the girls.
- According to the video, the upcoming release is called “Wild.”
It’s official: The girls of KATSEYE (minus Manon, but more on that later) have made their debut at Coachella on Friday, April 10. But ahead of the girls hitting the stage, the festival accidentally aired an announcement from the group that might have dropped a major hint about their next project.
The video—which was likely meant to air during Weekend 2 of Coachella (April 17-19)—instead aired during Weekend 1’s livestream and confirmed that the name of KATSEYE’s next project is called “Wild.”
Hours before the KATSEYE made their debut and performed on the festival’s Sahara stage, the Coachella livestream broadcast a message from members Sophia Laforteza, Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung.
“Today we just announced our new project, 'Wild,'” Sophia kicked off the announcement. Lara added, “We're so, so excited to share this next chapter with all of our EYEKONS.” Megan added that their fans should catch their performance at the Sahara Tent at 8 P.M. PT “this Friday.”
Of course, eagle eyed fans caught on right away:
Naturally, the video leak isn’t the only reason why all eyes are on KATSEYE. Ahead of the group’s Coachella performance, HYBE confirmed that she wouldn’t be present for their debut at the festival.
The girls spoke about Manon during their recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, and said, “Manon has been on hiatus, and we love her so much! We know she’s doing well, and she got to talk to the fans about it. We’re just really excited and rooting for all of us and each other.”
“You know, we’ve gotten through so much together, so at the end of the day, we all just want each other to win, be okay, and feel good,” they added, per Entertainment Tonight. “She’s our sister forever, and we love her so much! We built this together, so we want to give her all the space, whatever she needs.”
