Hacks Season 5 Schedule: When Do New Episodes Come Out?

The final season of Hacks is airing on HBO. If you don’t want to miss any of the drama the esteemed comedy has in store, here’s what you need to know about the Hacks Season 5 release schedule.

Hacks first premiered in 2021 and has served up new seasons pretty consistently since then. The only blip was 2023, due to the the WGA and SAG strikes that summer. Audiences have fallen in love, or sometimes love-to-hate, with Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), Ava (Hannah Einbinder), Kayla (Meg Stalter), Jimmy (Paul W. Downs), and the countless iconic supporting and guest star characters. The fifth and final season includes Christopher Briney, Leslie Bibb, Ann Dowd, Cherry Jones, and Katya in new/guest roles.

When does Hacks Season 5 premiere?

The season premieres on April 9, 2026 with an episode titled “EGOT.” That, of course, refers to the status or unofficial honor bestowed upon individuals who have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. It’s exactly the sort of goal someone like Ava would have, and TBH quite the challenge if you’re not a composer or a producer. Anyway! We’re off to the races.

How many episodes are in Season 5 of Hacks?

There will be only seven episodes in the final season. Previous seasons had as many as ten, nine, and eight episodes total. So this one is definitely the baby. After the season premiere, episodes will drop weekly-ish on Thursdays.

What do I mean by ish? This is where it gets weird. There will be one new episode weekly for the first three weeks. The back half of the season/final four episodes of the series will drop two at a time. Why is that? Maybe they’re trying to pave the way for other HBO programming. Maybe it has to do with Emmy award eligibility. Your guess is as good as mine.
