- Ariana Grande recently shared photos from a recording studio on social media.
- Once she dropped the pics, a source told TMZ that her eighth album is allegedly dropping this summer.
- Here’s everything we know about AG8, aka Ariana’s unnamed eighth album.
Though Ariana Grande has dedicated years of her life to playing her dream role of Wicked’s Glinda the Good Witch, longtime fans have been patiently waiting for her to bless their eardrums with more of her signature R&B-infused pop bangers (or, at the very least, loosen up her Broadway vocals and throw another “yuh” onto a track).
Of course, she dropped eternal sunshine and its deluxe version, eternal sunshine: brighter days ahead, while working on both films. But the second she pulled up to the 2026 Golden Globes with her signature long brown ponytail and a fresh tan, fans knew Pop Star Ari was slowly defrosting in time for her upcoming tour this summer.
Then, on April 8, she all but confirmed she defrosted further by posting pics from a recording studio. Could her eighth album—aka AG8—officially be on the way? Here’s what I know about the project (if it even exists!) so far.
What has Ariana Grande said about AG8?
With the exception of her recent social post from the studio…not much.
But, earlier this year, Ariana opened up to Vogue Japan about the possibility of her dropping new music.
“Balance is the goal for the next 15 years,” she said. “I don't think they will look like the previous fifteen years. I think there will be more balance.”
Though she’s had a pretty stacked schedule since wrapping Wicked, thanks to forthcoming projects like American Horror Story and Focker-in-Law, Ariana said when it comes to hitting, “You’ll have to clone me!”
She added, “I’m like, ‘Wow, won’t it be so amazing to live life and then have that feed my art even more?’”
Well, according to our calculations, she dropped eternal sunshine in March 2024 and its deluxe version came the following year…maybe that’s enough time to find more muses?
When does Ariana Grande’s new album come out?
Because we don’t know if AG8 even exists yet, it’s hard to tell…especially since Ari has pretty much remained silent. However, once she shared photos from a recording studio on April 8, sources told TMZ that she’s allegedly dropping an album “in the summertime.”
The outlet’s sources claim “she’s super excited and posted pics of herself in the studio to tease the new project.”
While it hasn’t necessarily been confirmed, a summertime release checks out, since Ari will already be on the road for her eternal sunshine tour in New York, L.A., Oakland, Austin, Atlanta, and Sunrise.
The Grammy winner or her label, Republic Records, has yet to confirm or deny the rumors.
