• Summer House’s Carl Radke is noticeably absent from the show’s new spin-off, In the City.
  • Other cast members, like Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, and Carl’s ex, Lindsay Hubbard, are part of the new show.
  • Carl revealed the real reason he isn’t a main cast member for In the City.

If Bravo has mastered anything since becoming a reality TV mecca in the early aughts, it’s making a damn good spin-off. Case in point: the entire Real Housewives franchise spawned one of its many iterations, Vanderpump Rules, which now has several spin-offs across networks. And that really only scratches the surface, because the latest fan-favorite reality series to get the same treatment is Summer House, which is premiering a new series, In the City, on May 19.

Of course, the new show will follow some of the Hamptons housemates we’ve gotten to know over the years, including Kyle Cooke, Amanda Batula, Lindsay Hubbard, Danielle Olivera, and Andrew Denver. But fans quickly noticed that Summer House mainstay Carl Radke was nowhere to be seen in the trailer for In the City.

No reason to freak out though! Apparently, Carl is making a brief appearance in some episodes, though he’s not part of the main cast. During an appearance on Morgan’s Pop Talks podcast, Carl got candid about his status on the show.

“They were really focused, it seems like, on the next chapter. [People who are] married, or you have a child, or whatever’s going on. Less single people,” he explained to the pod’s host, Morgan Paige. “It was more of the couples and the inner dynamics of living in Manhattan. So that wasn’t necessarily where I fit in at this point.”

While he wasn’t asked to be part of the show, he did share that he filmed “a little bit” for some episodes. “You’ll see a glimpse of me, as far as I know,” Carl, who dated Lindsay for nearly two years before they called off their engagement in 2023, said.

Just because his screen time was scaled back for the spin-off doesn’t mean we should count him out for future seasons, if it continues.

“I would love to be a part of it,” Carl admitted. “But if they don’t want me to be, I’m still going to cheer and show up for everything they asked me to. I’m so proud to be a part of this network.”

In the City hits Bravo on Tuesday, May 19.
