• King Charles and Prince Harry’s reunion in Washington DC has been “scrapped.”
  • A source says “we are living int he real world” and they are both “busy.”
  • King Charles is visiting the US to mark the 250th anniversary of American independence.

Rumor had it that Prince Harry and King Charles were going to meet up for the first time in forever—in none other than Washington DC. A kinda random meetup city, but the king is scheduled to make a visit to the capital this month for the 250th anniversary of American independence, so it made sense! However, according to Hello Magazine, their reunion has been “scrapped.”

A source tells the magazine that “The Duke loves his father, and of course, he would love to see his father as much as possible. But we are living in the real world. They both have very busy lives and things aren't always logistically or practically possible.”

The outlet notes that—while they’ve only seen each other a few times since King Charles’s coronation—they “have a pretty good relationship,” despite Charles distancing himself from Harry amid his ongoing legal cases in the UK. And speaking of said legal cases, if Harry does get his taxpayer-funded security back, he’ll likely take his family to visit King Charles in the UK. Per a source, If that were to happen, absolutely he would bring his family over to the UK more, both his wife and his kids..

As for King Charles’ visit to DC, the palace released a statement musing, “On advice of His Majesty's Government, and at the invitation of The President of the United States, The King and Queen will undertake a State Visit to the United States of America. Their Majesties' programme will celebrate the historic connections and the modern bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States, marking the 250th anniversary of American Independence."

King Charles and Queen Camilla’s trip will include a banquet dinner, and apparently Charles will also address Congress, so there’s that.
