- The first season of FX’s Love Story focuses on John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette’s relationship.
- A second season of the show has yet to be renewed, if at all.
- Love Story’s creator, Connor Hines, recently teased which famous couple could potentially inspire season 2 if it happens.
Fans are still following John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette’s high-profile romance thanks to FX’s new show, Love Story…but ofc, they’re also wondering who could be next to get the Love Story treatment. Like producer Ryan Murphy’s other projects, Monsters and American Crime Story, his latest anthology series is a mainly fictional account of real-life events. Meaning: Anyone can be a muse for Love Story if it gets renewed for a second season.
The show’s creator, Connor Hines, recently revealed which famous couple could be the focus for season 2, if it happens. “Maybe Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. They have the right intensity,” he told Vanity Fair.
It’s a solid choice, considering Elizabeth and Richard are still one of the most iconic celebrity couples of all time. The pair reportedly met (and fell in love) when they starred as Cleopatra and Mark Antony in 1963’s Cleopatra. They felt intense chemistry with each other, despite being married to their respective partners at the time, Eddie Fisher and Sybil Williams.
Richard and Elizabeth worked together in 11 different movies, from The V.I.Ps to Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and were married from 1964 to 1967. They eventually got divorced and remarried a year later, only to finally break up in 1976.
Connor’s comments come after fans shared potential pairings for the series to focus on.
Some of the most popular ones? Ahem: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck (the first time around, anyway), Michelle and Barack Obama, Victoria and David Beckham, and Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain.
Honestly, I’d be down to see them all!
