It’s happening: Hulu is (reportedly!) working on a spin-off of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, their popular reality show about MomTok that’s set in Utah. People reports that a new version of the show is officially in the works, so here’s a quick primer on what we know so far (psst: we’ll add more details as they drop!).
Where Does the Spin-Off Take Place?
None other than Orange County, California. So, until further notice, we’ll be referring to it as The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: The O.C.
When Does Mormon Wives: The O.C. Start Production?
The show will reportedly shoot this spring (so, any moment now)!
When Does Mormon Wives: The O.C. Come Out?
It’s slated for a fall 2026 premiere.
Who’s Joining the Cast?
The cast list is TBD, but People reports that Jen Affleck is the only member of the original Mormon Wives to jump over to the spin-off. The rest of the cast will be comprised of nine new faces.
FYI, this spin-off news comes amid the original Secret Lives of Mormon Wives being on a production pause amid an open "domestic assault investigation" between Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen.
An insider told People that “The girls are very overwhelmed. They all banded together and they don’t want to come back right now. They were just getting tired of Taylor, honestly. [...] They kind of all decided, as a unit, that they're taking the production pause, that they don't want to film right now. I don’t think they care about her really right now. They're just kind of like, ‘We're done for right now.'"
