ABC has officially canceled Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette three days before it was set to premiere. The network’s swift cancellation comes amid a domestic incident between Taylor and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, whose 2023 physical altercation also resurfaced this week.

As the news surfaced, Taylor’s 22 contestants have reportedly “been rallying around each other in solidarity and feel extremely upset and let down by Taylor and the situation,” per Us Weekly.

Since their screen time has been completely scrapped in the wake of her scandal, TMZ has reported that each of the men will likely have another chance at love on the upcoming season of Bachelor in Paradise, though “it’s unclear how many might get that opportunity.”

Per the outlet, “an emergency virtual meeting was held with all 22 Bachelorette contestants Thursday—and, sources on the call tell us the team behind the show placated the cast.” Network execs reportedly instructed the contestants not to speak to the press amid Taylor’s scandal while under contract, with “multiple lawyers” on the call.

On March 19, TMZ separately reported that the men were “shocked” and “blindsided” by the allegations. The outlet also shared that their experience working with The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star was “completely different,” noting she was “kind, genuine, and well-intentioned” and seemingly led with a “pure heart, trying to do the right thing for herself.”
