Dakota Mortensen has filed a restraining order against Taylor Frankie Paul following a domestic incident that reportedly occurred between them in February. Earlier this week, a Draper City Police Department spokesperson confirmed to People that there’s a “domestic assault investigation” regarding the exes, that “allegations have been made in both directions,” and that “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24th and 25th.”
According to TMZ, Dakota “filed for a protective order in Utah on Tuesday” and ran into Taylor’s ex-husband, Tate Paul. The outlet—which published photos of said run-in—spoke to sources who claim “they were both there to obtain separate protective orders against Taylor.”
The meeting wasn’t scheduled and they “just happened to show up on the same day, around the same time, and cross paths.” They also “came and went separately.”
Taylor and Dakota don’t appear to be in direct communication at this point—at least based on a statement she gave to Entertainment Weekly(note: this quote was published before The Bachelorette’s recent cancellation): “I’m just doing third-party everything—pick-up, drop-offs, communication—so no contact right now for me. I think that’s the best case, honestly, because clearly it’s just not to a point of us getting along, so I wanted to take the best action I could….I didn’t want to bring anything to the public eye, making it a bigger deal for the sake of my son, and just everything about to come out. But that wasn’t the plan for him.”
