It feels like it’s been 84 years since we’ve had Euphoria Sundays on HBO, but thankfully, season 3 is set to premiere on April 12. The show’s star and, now, producer, Zendaya, dropped some rare comments about the highly anticipated third season, which was delayed multiple times after the SAG-AFTRA and Writers’ Guild strikes.
During the L.A. premiere of her new A24 movie with Robert Pattinson, The Drama, on March 17, Z gushed about what it was like working on Euphoria.
“Gosh, it was a whirlwind. I did what I do in eight months in, like, four months. It was like trying to get eight episodes in at once. It just flew by me,” she told Variety on the red carpet. She also shared that she’s “seen a little bit” of the season so far, saying, “I’m excited. I hope it turns out beautifully.”
Z’s comments come after the show’s musical composer, Labrinth, shared a cryptic message on social media criticizing the HBO hit and the soundtrack’s label, Columbia Records.
“I’m done with this industry. Fuck Columbia. Double fuck Euphoria. I’m out. Thank you and good night x,” Labrinth wrote in a since-deleted March 13 Instagram post, per The Hollywood Reporter.
“Ohh season 3 is going to be a mess,” one fan theorized, while another added, “l love how she’s excited but also sounds like she survived a hurricane at the same time.”
Someone else pointed out that Zendaya’s career has skyrocketed since the show debuted in 2019, writing, “She’s gotten so many gigs since first starting, and with the show coming out every so many years you can tell this is a character she is no longer fully invested in playing.”
The internet doesn’t seem convinced by Z’s sentiments, as THR’s sources also alleged that production on Euphoria season 3 had gone “disgustingly, disturbingly off the rails” in a separate report from 2024.
Per the piece, Zendaya’s friendship and collaborative connection with showrunner Sam Levinson “had cooled,” while another insider alleged that “as she pulled away, [he] began to resent her.”
At the time, Zendaya had reportedly declined to comment for THR’s story. None of the behind-the-scenes allegations have been confirmed or denied as of March 2026.
