- Teyana Taylor and the cast of One Battle After Another had a big night at the Oscars on Sunday, March 15.
- She had a tense exchange with a security guard, who she claims “shoved” her as she tried to join the cast for a group photo.
- Teyana slammed the guard, saying, “You’re a man putting his hands on a female.”
Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor had a major night, from her fab and feathered red carpet look to the coveted awards show itself. ICYMI, she starred alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Sean Penn, and Regina Hall in Paul Thomas Anderson’s movie, One Battle After Another, and the flick took home six awards, including Best Picture.
When it came time to accept the biggest award of the night, PTA was joined onstage by the cast, who took a group photo with him after the show had wrapped. But, according to TMZ’s sources with “direct knowledge,” Teyana almost didn’t make it back up there after a tense exchange with a security guard.
In behind-the-scenes social media footage, the “Hard Part” singer called out a guard who had allegedly “put his hands” on her and “shoved” her as she attempted to make it back on time for the shot.
“You’re a man putting his hands on a female,” she said to him in the video, before repeating, “You’re very rude.”
In the clip, someone seemingly asked why Teyana was upset, to which she responded, “Because he’s putting his hands on a female. What are you doing? He literally shoved me.”
She later explained that everyone was “having a good time” on stage, adding, “Do not touch me. Do not shove me. Do not push me.”
As for the guard, TMZ’s sources claim that he “used his body to block Taylor and put his hands on her, trying to physically hold her back and push her away from the stage to prevent her from getting past him.” He also allegedly asked Teyana to apologize in the heat of the moment.
Perhaps she needs an apology for the intensity, since she was merely celebrating an accomplishment. Either way, I love to see a queen standing up for herself!
