There was a 10/10 chance that Timothée Chalamet was going to come up during Conan O’Brien’s Oscars monologue, and yep, it happened. With Timmy in the audience, naturally!

Conan didn’t go too in on Lil Timmy Tim, but he did reference his viral ballet and opera comments, which have created huge amounts of discourse and backlash in the past week. Mere moments into his monologue, Conan said, “I’m told there’s concern about attacks from both the opera and ballet communities. They’re just mad you left out jazz.”

Timmy’s reaction? He and Kylie were both caught on camera smiling and laughing.

In case you missed his initial comments (there’s no way, but…), the Marty Supreme actor was chatting with Matthew McConaughey during an on-camera interview and randomly took a shot at opera and ballet, saying, “I don’t want to be working in ballet or opera where it’s like, ‘Hey, keep this thing alive, even though no one cares about this anymore.’”

People have been unimpressed, to say the least! As ballet superstar Misty Copeland (who’s performing at the Oscars tonight) put it, “He wouldn’t be an actor and have the opportunities he has as a movie star if it weren’t for opera and ballet and their relevance in that medium. All of these mediums have a space and we shouldn’t be comparing them.”
