Frankenstein is nominated for a slew of Oscars, including Best Picture, and the cast is busy assembling on the red carpet—including Mia Goth who’s dressed in an outfit straight out of a gothic romance. The actor wore a goth wedding dress (fully giving Bride of Frankenstein, mean that as a compliment), paired with straight hair, curtain bangs, and a peachy nude lip.
Back in 2023, Mia spoke about how the Academy Awards should take horror more seriously as a genre (she was in Pearl at the time), saying, “I think that it’s very political. It’s not entirely based on the quality of a project per se. There’s a lot going on there and a lot of cooks in the kitchen when it comes to nominations. Maybe I shouldn’t say that, but I think that’s true. I think a lot of people know that.”
“A change is necessary,” she added. “A shift should take place if they wanted to engage with the wider public. [To nominate horror movies] I think it would be of benefit, really.”
Frankenstein spans several genres, but it could definitely be described as a gothic horror and is nominated for nine Oscars. Love to see it!
