Sarah J. Maas stopped by Call Her Daddy last night and casually revealed that not only is the sixth book in A Court of Thorns and Roses coming out in October, it’ll be followed by a seventh book in January!

Though if you’re a superfan, you probably knew that already due to Barnes & Noble allegedly dropping a link and then deleting it. But now that Maas has confirmed the news, you night be wondering…are the new ACOTAR books available to preorder, or...?

As of early this morning (March 5), Amazon only had books 1 to 5, and same with B&N. However…Barnes & Noble just dropped their preorder link—run, don’t walk!

And while you’re at it, the entire rest of the series is 50% off at the moment, so might as well jump on that!

Honestly, Maas was pretty light on the details during her interview and didn’t confirm the title or length of the new books (which are dropping October 27, 2026, and January 12, 2027). But she did confirm that they’re basically one giant volume?

“Part one was this huge, huge thing,” she explained. “And then I realized it was gonna be four parts. A book told in four parts. So then I wrote part two and part three. And those were really fucking long. And so then part four has yet to be written because right now, I’m trying to just get part one, which is out in October. And then parts two and three to be out in January is like one combined thing. So it’s basically gonna be, like, three physical volumes, but it’s one thing altogether that no amount of glue in, like, any publisher’s factory could ever hold this.”

The books are ideally meant to be read as a “massive, massive story as opposed to, like, trilogy,” which is why they’re dropping back-to-back. “I could not live with the idea of, like, publishing part one and then being like, yeah, wait like a year, I was like, no,” she said. “Like, I want that in everyone’s hands. And so that’s why we’re doing it like this, like back-to-back release. So there’s gonna be a lot of ACOTAR in a very short time.”
