I Wanted a Perfume That Smells Like Spring—These 10 Deliver

Like a walk in a garden.

Collection of various perfume bottles with a central image of a person.

It’s official: My winter perfumes are stowed away and, in their place, come floral scents, green notes, citrus fragrances, and all things that take my mind off the pile of snow still outside. IDC if the weather isn’t cooperating (granted, I’m eyeing a 70-degree day like a hawk on my weather app rn); I want spring now. And if the only way I’m gonna evoke warm weather and breezy open windows is by spritzing on a spring perfume, then so be it!

But what spring scents are we spraying this year? I have a few go-to favorites I pull out every season, as well as a few brand-new perfumes I’m already planning to get a lot of wear out of this year. Keep reading for all of our picks:

Cosmo editor review: “I find this to be the ideal daytime scent. Peach 'N Roses isn't overpowering in the slightest—even when I go spritz happy. The aroma has a nuanced, chiffony effect, almost like being wrapped in luxurious silk. It won't upset coworkers' sensitive noses, yet manages to leave people pondering "what is that uplifting scent?" when you pass them.”—MARY HONKUS, CONTRIBUTING BEAUTY EDITOR

Cosmo editor's review: "My mom wore Gucci Bloom throughout my childhood, and this Parfum version is like the elevated, yet younger version of the original. With modern floral notes, and a touch of amber and vanilla, I'm coining this the perfect perfume to wear out and about. If I could drench myself in this all the time, I would. “—JASMINE HYMAN, ASSISTANT BEAUTY EDITOR

Cosmo editor's review: “I love a solid perfume, but I wasn’t sure how I’d fare with this gel format. But it’s actually so good. It’s easy to apply in this baby tube and glides on evenly with a powdery finish. But I’ve completely fallen in love with this scent. The fig comes off a bit salty and airy, while the jasmine adds a green element that’s perfect for spring.”—BETH GILLETTE, BEAUTY EDITOR

Cosmo editor's review: “The original Chanel Chance is sophisticated, but with every flanker, the brand creates a more youthful version. This cutesy purple juice barely even smells like a Chanel Chance perfume, but there’s just a teensy bit of musk that pulls in some of the O.G. DNA. Overall, though, it’s a juicy, fruity, yummy scent that makes me want summer RTFN.”—BG

Cosmo editor's review: “I was fully prepared to hate this scent, considering I'm not a floral lover. But Fleur isn't your typical floral perfume. Sure, there's osmanthus, but it's heavy on the apricot and salt, giving the scent a way more beachy vibe than garden-y one IMO. I saw someone compare it to the vibes of Call Me By Your Name: juicy fruits, blooming flowers, ocean air, all whipping through your hair as you bike along the Italian countryside with a lover. I see the vision. It's the sweet smell of yearning, baby.”—BG

Cosmo editor’s review: “If Barbie had a signature scent, it would be Springtime in the Park—and not just because of the juice’s bubblegum-pink hue. This sparkling fragrance has a fun, happy personality (um, yes perfumes do have personalities and you can’t convince me otherwise) that demands attention in an effortless and chill sort of way. Fruity and floral notes of pear, blackcurrant, lily of the valley, rose, and jasmine intertwine creating a luminous, joyful scent. While floral fragrances tend to smell a bit grandma-ish to me (no offense, grandma), the fruity hints give this one a youthful, vivacious vibe, making it great "first" perfume for those who are just starting to build out their fragrance wardrobe.”—MH

Cosmo editor's review: “Mochi Milk is the kind of sweet perfume I’d actually want to wear as the weather warms up. The rice-based milk notes add a savory touch that turns the yummy notes creamy, not sickly sweet. It’s the kind of scent that you’d assume someone could naturally smell like.”—BG

Scent familyGourmand
NotesMarshmallow, vanilla bean, Sweet rice milk

Cosmo editor's review: "If gourmand and citrus had a baby, it'd be this perfume. It's a yummy lemon dessert (makes sense with a name like "Lemon Puff"), with notes of vanilla and meringue that give it a hyper-sweet coating. I don't typically love citrus, but this one is totally my vibe."—BG

Cosmo editor's review: “As I sit at my desk with an entire tub of BonBon gummy candies next to me, let’s just say this perfume was made for me. But if the idea of a gummy bear-scented perfume turns you off, trust that MFK found a way to make this smell so grown-up but childlike at the same time. The fruity notes combined with white musk give it a powdery dry down that’s sweet at the same time.”—BG

NotesPeach, raspberry, gummy candy, fruit notes, white musk

Cosmo editor's review: “Spring just naturally smells like wet grass, and that’s kinda want this perfume smells like, but in a pretty, whimsical way. The orange really comes through to create a citrus element, but overall, it’s a dewy dream that immediately puts me in the mindset of ‘Fearless’ by Taylor Swift. Lemme go dance in my best dress, fearless.”—BG

Scent familyGreen and citrus
NotesGrass, orange, almond blossom, cedar, violet, vetiver, elemi
