Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested on suspicion of public misconduct while in office. The Times reports that a "convoy of cars was seen at Sandringham estate on Andrew’s 66th birthday" and that Thames Valley Police confirmed they were "assessing allegations that Andrew forwarded confidential reports to Jeffrey Epstein while he was a trade envoy for the UK."
Patrol cars arrived at ex-Prince Andrew's new home, Wood Farm, just after 8:00 am to arrest him, and officers are also searching an address in Berkshire.
"We have today arrested a man in his sixties from Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are carrying out searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The man remains in police custody at this time," police said in a statement, while Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said "It is important that we protect the integrity and objectivity of our investigation as we work with our partners to investigate this alleged offense. We understand the significant public interest in this case, and we will provide updates at the appropriate time."
As for what comes next, The Times reports that there's the prospect of a "criminal trial after more than 15 years of scrutiny over his ties to Epstein."
