There's a new mystery show for you to hyper-fixate on. 56 Days just dropped on Amazon Prime, and it's addictive to say the least (so good thing all episodes were released at once for easy binging). The twisty psychological thriller follows Oliver and Ciara, who seemingly randomly meet at a supermarket and enter a whirlwind relationship. Flash-forward 56 days and there's a decomposing body in the bathtub of Oliver's apartment. The show cuts from the past to the present as police try to solve who killed whomst, and we learn more about Oliver and Ciara's real motivations and mysterious pasts.
Time to get to know the key cast and characters (this is a spoiler free zone, btw)!
Dove Cameron as Ciara Wyse
Ciara moves to a roach infested apartment in Boston to start a boring new job, and immediately runs into the mysterious Oliver at a grocery store. We don't know much about her past (other than that she's sending money to her mom and sister back home), but we do know that she has a lot of secrets.
Dove Cameron has been acting steadily since her Liv and Maddie days on Disney, but she's probably best known for Descendants. These days Dove makes music, and recently got engaged to her boyfriend, Damiano David.
Avan Jogia as Oliver Kennedy
Oliver is possibly even more mysterious than Ciara, but we know he lives in a sparsely furnished, very fancy, and deeply impersonal apartment. He also has a fake identity, some anger issues, and seems to be making a lot of money at work.
Avan had his breakthrough as Beck Oliver in Victorious (Dove was a Disney girl, Avan was a Nickelodeon boy), and has since been in everything from Zombieland: Double Tap to Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. He and singer Halsey have been engaged since 2023 and are very cute.
Karla Souza as Lee Reardon
Lee Reardon is a detective who shows up to Oliver's apartment and is tasked with solving the bathtub murder. She's driven, organized, and ready to get the case solved, but might have some secrets of her own...
International Emmy Award winner Karla Souza was iconic in How to Get Away With Murder, and now she's back at it for another murder-filled show. When she's not busy acting, she hangs with her husband, Marshall Trenkmann, and their three kids.
Dorian Missick as Karl Connolly
Karl works with Lee to solve the case, though when we meet him he seems pretty over his job and has just come from a night out. He and Lee are definitely close friends as well as partners, but he seems to think there are some things she's not sharing...
Dorian has done everything from voicing Victor Vance in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories to starring in The Manchurian Candidate back in 2004. He's married to actor Simone Missick!
