After three seasons of chaos, toxic relationships, and one big wedding, Tell Me Lies aired its final episode last night, with series creator Meaghan Oppenheimer confirming the show would be ending for good with the episode. And honestly? We're devastated...and also full of questions that still need answering following the end of the show.

Last night, ahead of the episode's release, Meaghan shocked fans when she revealed the show would not be returning for a fourth season. Writing on her Instagram, she shared she had considered seeing if the story could be continued but felt it had reached its natural conclusion.

"After three amazing seasons of Tell Me Lies, tonight’s episode will be the series finale. This was always the ending my writing team and I had in mind, and we are insanely proud of it," she said. "Your incredible response to this season inspired us to explore whether there was another organic way to continue the story, but ultimately we felt it had reached its natural conclusion. My main goal has always been to protect the quality of the show and give you the best experience I can give you.”

That's all well and good, Meaghan, but there's still some loose ends we'd liked tied up before we say goodbye to Lucy and Stephen forever. While the series finale covered a lot of emotional ground, there's still a few lingering plot points we're confused over. Starting with...

What’s going on with Lucy and Stephen?

In classic Lucy and Stephen style, their ending is beyond confusing and shows just how stuck they are in their toxic cycle. At the wedding, Stephen convinces Lucy to come away with him, and despite initially saying "no," she ends up going with him anyway.

However, when they're on their journey, Stephen ends up abandoning Lucy at a truck stop. Um, excuse me? We really shouldn't be surprised at this point, however—could we be forgiven for expecting a clean yes or no answer as to whether these two end up together?

The fact Lucy laughs at the situation suggests maybe there is still something between them. Or, as many people have potentially argued, Lucy let Stephen think he won the game by following Diana's advice, when in reality it's Lucy who is now free and will never be with Stephen again.

Are Bree and Wrigley together?

Okay, so it's heavily implied, but we didn't get a strict yes or no and we'd like one please. After everything they've gone through, it seems only right that they would.

During those final moments in the episode the pair can be seen locking eyes at each other, which does suggest there's something there between them but we would have really liked the confirmation.

Why did Bree and Evan wait six years to get married?

This is a small but important one. Bree and Evan got engaged all the way back in the 2009 storyline but didn't have their wedding until 2015. We get that—for the point of the show's various plots—it makes sense for the wedding to be the culmination point of all the drama, but six years feels like quite a stretch for the couple to be engaged.

How did Stephen and Lydia get together?

All the way back in the season one finale we found out Stephen was engaged to Lydia in the 2015 timeline. He ends up breaking up with her the day of the wedding after revealing he slept with Lucy.

But now that the show is over for good, we still never really found out how these two got together in the first place...especially as she was Lucy's friend first.

What happened with Alex and Bree in their childhood?

During the third season we come to be introduced to student and drug dealer Alex, who it turns out was Bree's foster brother from her childhood.

While we got some details about how they know each other, what really happened to them in their foster homes is still pretty much a mystery.

Why wasn’t Alex at Bree’s wedding?

Given their history, it would have made sense for Alex to be at one of the most important days of Bree's life. So why didn't he go to the wedding? Was he not invited? We need answers.

How did Pippa and Diana get together?

Back in season two during the 2015 timeline, we found out Diana and Pippa were in a relationship. While they're now broken up, we never got an explanation as to how they got back together in the first place.

Is Stephen ever punished for Macy’s death?

Sorry, but this was just swept under the rug. Back in season one, Stephen and Macy were involved in a car crash after Stephen insisted on driving drunk and ended up smashing the car into a tree. Rather than take responsibility, he moved Macy into the driver's seat so it looked like she was the one who crashed the car. And while the decision plagued Stephen, there was never any real consequences to what he did.

And Marianne and Oliver also get off scot-free?

Speaking of a lack of consequences, can we talk about how Oliver and Marianne blackmailed Bree and her family, and there was zero comeuppance. Like no repercussions?

We're going to miss this twisted show.
