- Queer Eye’s tenth and final season premiered on Netflix on Jan. 21.
- After Karamo Brown skipped multiple live interviews with the rest of the Fab Five, sources revealed that a behind-the-scenes hot mic moment led to his alleged feud with Tan France, Jonathan Van Ness, and Antoni Porowski.
- Now, more insiders reveal that tensions had been brewing with the cast “for a while,” as OG cast member Bobby Berk reportedly had his own “moment of tension” with Tan off-camera.
As a recent Us Weekly headline puts it: Queer Eye’s Fab Five may as well be known as the Fractured Five after reported rifts between its cast members.
Though the heartwarming reality show’s tenth and final season hit Netflix on January 21, behind-the-scenes drama between Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness has come out of the woodwork—and, unlike a French tuck, this is not a great look for them.
According to several sources, “Karamo is relieved that the final season is out because it means he can put this chapter behind him. There are a lot of big egos in the group, and it’s honestly a miracle they made it to 10 seasons while navigating that.”
The source also clarified that the show’s life coach not only unfollowed Tan, Antoni, and JVN on social media—he allegedly blocked them, too. He still follows newcomer Jeremiah Brent, as well as Bobby Berk, who left the show after eight seasons due to his own reported “moment of tension” with Tan behind the scenes.
ICYMI, Karamo fully pulled out of group interviews with the rest of the cast on CBS Mornings and TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle on January 20.
“I hope everyone remembers the main theme I have tried to teach them over the past decade, which is to focus on and to protect their mental health/peace from people or a world who seek to destroy it,” Karamo said in a statement read by Gayle at the time.
While Tan, Antoni, and JVN expressed gratitude on air, other sources weighed in on the hot mic moment that led to their reported feud with Karamo.
According to the Daily Mail, Karamo’s mom, Charmaine, observed filming on the Queer Eye set in Washington D.C., where she heard the rest of the Fab Five “judging their co-star and criticizing some of his life choices” as he briefly stepped away.
Now, another insider tells Us Weekly that “issues” between the cast started long before Karamo’s developments—and even before Bobby exited in 2024.
“Karamo was having issues with the group back then too, but not to Bobby’s extent,” they explained. “Now, it has heated up again. Karamo does not feel included, but there was not some big event, fight, or incident.”
They also claimed that Tan, Antoni, JVN, and Jeremiah never “ganged up” on Karamo, adding, “Tan and Antoni are really close, but [those] four are not in this exclusive clique.”
