Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber made their first red carpet appearance in literal years at the 2026 Grammy Awards (where Justin was nominated and performed "YUKON"), and naturally body language experts wasted no time analyzing the vibes. Which, apparently, were slightly "unusual" due to the couple having no desire to perform for cameras.
"The couple's form of silent communication on the red carpet is sparse and unusual," expert Judi James tells the Daily Mail. "Their tactile behavior increased as they went from spot to spot. At the start, they posed without touching and there was only one moment of touch between them when Hailey bent to straighten her hem and held onto his bicep briefly for balance."
Judi added that "By the second pose she had linked her hand into his arm, and they were holding hands later on, but they seem not to be using eye contact at all. Both looked too cool to smile, although Justin did hike his mouth upward at one point to suggest a desire to be seen as more friendly."
But don't read into the fact that Hailey and Justin weren't allll over each other like some other high-profile couples on the red carpet. They simply have "no real desire to perform for the cameras emotionally" and "there were some pointing gestures to show each other where to look or where to stand but they otherwise avoided any power-couple cheese here."
In other words, they were being completely authentic.
